Ode to a Nightingale
The Nightingale Exhibition: What would you choose?

Every year we produce an exhibition of artwork from our own extensive collections, giving you the opportunity to see some of the historical treasures we care for on your behalf.

This year our exhibition marks the centenary of an interesting collection of paintings, donated in 1908 by Edward Nightingale. He was an important local businessman with a love of art and donated his paintings to “form the nucleus of a really good and instructive series of art productions, which a town of such importance as Rotherham should possess”.
