The service we provide
We have two teams dedicated to tackling fly-tipping. These work closely with Streetpride's Enviro-Crime Unit to identify the people responsible for the illegal tipping of waste. The penalties for those caught fly tipping are either:
- A fixed penalty fine of £75.
- A fine of up to £50,000 at the Magistrates Court, or an unlimited fine at the Crown Court, and/or a prison sentence of up to 5 years.
The removal of illegally tipped domestic and commercial waste costs the Council approximately £150,000 a year.
