Streetpride's Aim
Streetpride maintains over 1,100 kilometres of highways in a clean and safe condition for pedestrians, motorists, other road users and local communities.
Our aim is: “To work with the community to maintain and improve the street scene to a standard which will promote civic pride and community responsibility.”
Streetpride is integral to the Council's corporate plan priorities of Safe, Alive, Achieving, Proud and Learning.

Beacon Award for Better Public Places 2008

In March 2008, the Council received a Beacon Award for Better Public Places, one of only 5 councils in the country to receive this award. Rotherham's unique and innovative Streetpride initiative has transformed the quality of public places and improved perceptions of the borough.
The Streetpride initiative cuts across the traditional departmental structure to co-ordinate and deliver all the services that affect the quality of public places. Key points include participatory budgeting, community clean-ups, Streetpride champions, imaginative campaigns, performance response timescales and the pro–active use of public places.
Best Performer Street Cleansing Service Award 2006
The Council was awarded the Best Performer Street Cleansing Service in the UK at the Association for Public Service Excellence Performance Networks Awards 2006. These awards recognise the excellence of frontline services that are important to the public and place Rotherham as the very best in Great Britain. Winning the award relies on a consistently strong performance on a wide range of performance indicators, in particular improving response times and dealing with complaints and compliments.
