Dogs when not in the control of their owners can cause a range of problems, for example car accidents, dog fights and attacks on people. They of course can also not only cause a nuisance but also lead to unwanted litters of puppies. In order to help keep stray dog numbers down, the council has a duty to seize any stray dogs. To carry out this activity we have a Dog Warden within the Enviro-Crime Unit in Neighbourhoods who carry out an enforcement and educational role.
