Rotherham Youth Offending Services has reviewed and evaluated the effectiveness of its performance.
Quarterly analysis of assessments undertaken with young people with whom they work has identified a number of areas in which there has been the potential for improvement.
What this analysis confirmed was that the thinking and behaviour of young people were significant factors in their engagement with crime and that the beneficial effects of good parenting and family were evident, but in many cases would benefit from professional support and input.
After research into various available programmes, the Youth Offending Service made a significant investment in the training for and purchase of the Teen Talk programme for working with teenagers and their families.
