Can I apply for a free Rothercard?

If you are living at an address which is registered for Council Tax with Rotherham Borough Council and you are on a low income please check below to see if you qualify.

These are the benefits which qualify YOU for a free Rothercard:

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • Jobseekers Allowance (Contributions based)
  • Jobseeker Allowance (Income based)
  • HC 2/3 Certificate - (help with cost of prescriptions, dentist/optician charges)

Your FAMILY DEPENDANTS (partners & children still in full time education) also qualify for thier own card if you receive one of the following benefits:

  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Disabled Person's Tax
  • Working Families' Tax Credit
  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker Allowance (Income based)
  • Housing Benefit

HC 2/3 Certificate - (help with cost of prescriptions, dentist/optician charges)

CARERS receiving Carer's Allowance

YOUNG PEOPLE aged 16-19 years in full time education and young people on a Youth Training Scheme also qualify regardless of their parents' income. Looked after Children/Young People also qualify for a Rothercard

Over 60's qualify for a Rothercard which is valid for 5 years.

REFUGEES/ASYLUM SEEKERS dependant on NASS payments
